Happy Birthday Watson!

It is Watson's first birthday and all of his friends and family are celebrating!

This is what Watson looked like when he first met his new family

Watson and Reece meet for the first time. The first night at home, Watson fell asleep in Larry's lap and later started whining when put in his crate. Reece went to lie down beside the crate where Watson was till he quit whining and fell asleep. Good dog Reece!

Everybody gets to wear a party hat, Watson likes his better than Reece did.

Wonder if Watson thinks that there is a treat inside Larry's hat?
Now that is a good family picture!
Did I mention that the festivities took place at Gate City Yarns on South Elm St. in Greensboro? This is one of my favorite places in Greensboro.

No one is exactly sure which day is his birthday. His mom was an abandoned pet who gave birth under a shed. She and the pups were adopted and cared for until Tina and Larry adopted Watson, or maybe Watson adopted them!
Reece isn't really eyeing the cupcakes on the table, he is after a very special dog biscuit and is trying to wait until Tina gives him the signal that he may have the treat.

Reece knows so many tricks, he even has been seen helping check out customers when they are ready to pay for their purchase! If you go to the yarn shop you will probably see Reece there, lying in the floor near the front door.

Besides having birthday parties for the pooches, Tina's store has an amazing array of fleece, yarn and everything else that you need to knit, spin or felt. She is also very knowledgable about fiber crafts and has led me through many projects.
But this day is all about Watson, he was even willing to wear his party hat. Reece kept pulling his hat off, focusing only on the treats that Tina was offering.
Can't you just hear him asking, "How much longer do I have to wear this hat?"

OK, finally we have both dogs in their party hats, waiting patiently for the doggie treats!

The dogs really didn't like these toys, Larry however loved playing with them.

Happy Birthday Watson!

If you need a pet, consider an animal from Ruff Love Rescue, the folks who saved Watson, his siblings and his mom.
